Context: Disaster sparked by climate change, social unrest and disease are affecting communities globally. In 2014, the client created a dedicated Disaster Management team to respond to the needs of the communities affected by such disasters in India. A disaster response framework was created across various stages - rescue, relief and rehabilitation.
Action: NuSocia worked with the client to assess the impact of skill development initiatives implemented as part of rehabilitation activities in Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
Result: NuSocia conducted the impact assessment study using a mixed method approach integrating quantitative and qualitative techniques. Project achievements and opportunities for improvement were identified by -
-> Leveraging the REEIS* (Relevance, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Impact and Sustainability) framework
-> Reviewing performance milestones across the program lifecycle
-> Evaluating data to identify trends and changes the projects were expected to bring
*REEIS is OECD/DAC Criteria for International Development Program Evaluations and used by major International NGOs for program evaluations
